With unwavering commitment, Abigail established Haven Counseling—a carefully crafted sanctuary that offers a safe space for individuals to embark on this empowering journey. Within its nurturing environment, she empowers and guides individuals, helping them summon their inner bravery as they navigate their personal growth.

Melissa Garcia, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Melissa Garcia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing DBT therapy to adolescents and adults of New Mexico. She strives to create a non-judgmental and compassionate environment to support adolescents and adults in meeting their life worth living goals.
Melissa is a native New Mexican and is passionate about improving the wellbeing of her community. Melissa has experience in working with children and families with trauma, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and parenting
Connor Caputo, LPCC
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Connor is a Licensed Clinical Counselor recognized for her direct, practical, and solution-focused style. Clients describe her as straightforward, clear, and genuinely helpful.
Connor specializes in working with first responders, medical professionals, veterinarians, and other helpers navigating work-related stress and trauma. She also supports individuals facing life transitions, relationship challenges, stress management, and unhelpful behavioral patterns.
With experience in both crisis response and traditional therapy, Connor provides grounded, evidence-based care for those seeking honest, effective support.
Kelli Matajcich, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Kelli Matajcich is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a strong background in education and counseling. Before becoming a psychotherapist in March 2025, she spent eight years as a school counselor, where she supported students and families through academic, social, and emotional challenges.
Today, Kelli works with adults navigating depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, parenting struggles, grief, and life transitions. She also provides play therapy for children, creating a safe, supportive environment where kids can develop emotional regulation skills and build resilience as they adjust to life changes.
Kelli’s approach emphasizes building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship as the foundation for growth. She believes therapy should be a positive, encouraging experience that empowers clients to discover their strengths and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Patricia Fine, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Patricia Fine is a counselor with experience in school counseling, life coaching, and couples coaching. She works with adolescents and adults experiencing stress, anxiety, and life transitions, offering practical tools to support emotional well-being and personal growth. Patricia’s approach is person-centered and strengths-based, emphasizing collaboration and the recognition of each client’s existing capabilities. She provides a supportive and grounded therapeutic environment that encourages insight, resilience, and sustainable change.
Simi Tafoya, P-LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (P-LMHC)
Simi is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity, and questions of meaning. She is particularly interested in helping clients understand the patterns they bring into their relationships and how those patterns shape the way they relate to themselves and others. She works with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and offers therapy in both English and Hindi.
Her approach is collaborative, flexible, and grounded. She draws from existential and person-centered therapy, ACT, and IFS, tailoring her approach to each client. Her work is guided by curiosity about what matters most to each person and how they want to move through the world. She believes people are capable of both change and endurance — and that meaningful therapy makes room for both.
Dani Seibert, Practice Manager
Dani Seibert supports the practice with administrative tasks that help everything run smoothly behind the scenes. With extensive experience in administrative work within the mental health field, she’s known for her calm, can-do attitude and ability to keep things organized and on track.
Outside of work, Dani enjoys spending time with her family and their cats, and playing online video games together.
Janessa Sanchez, Intake Coordinator
Janessa was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is passionate about serving the community she has always called home. She is currently pursuing her education while balancing one of her greatest joys — being a mom to her son.
With a lifelong passion for health, wellness, and helping others, Janessa enjoys building meaningful connections and creating a welcoming environment for everyone she meets. She believes that kindness, compassion, and genuine human connection make all the difference in someone's experience.
Outside of the office, Janessa loves spending quality time with her family, exploring the outdoors, visiting local growers markets, and supporting small businesses throughout Albuquerque — especially local coffee shops.
